7. Code of Conduct for Club Officials and Volunteers
At all times Club officials and volunteers are expected to display the highest standards of behaviour and appearance. The essence of good ethical conduct and practice comprises the following principles:- Respect the rights, dignity and worth of every person.
- Treat everyone equally, do not discriminate unfairly or unreasonably and do not allow such discrimination to go unchallenged.
- Place well-being and safety above performance.
- Develop positive relationships based on mutual trust and respect
- Ensure that any physical contact is both necessary and appropriate and carried out within recommended guidelines and with consent.
- Always work in an open environment, particularly with Young People (Avoid private or unobserved situations)
- DO NOT engage in any form of sexually related contact with a Young Player. This is strictly forbidden as is sexual innuendo, flirting or inappropriate gestures and terms.
- Know and understand all ECB policy directives, and in particular those relating to the Welfare of Young People in Cricket.
- Respect the opinions of young people.
- Inform players and parents / carers of young people of the requirements of cricket
- Be aware and report any conflict of interest as soon as possible.
- Do not give young people alcohol when they are under the care of the Club or League or County Board.
