| 1st XI: The 1st XI beat Bicester & North Oxford 2nd at Bicester. Winning the toss and batting, PRCC ended on 174-9, thanks largely to Jon Witney (41) and Dave Brooker (30).
The home side struggled against the bowling of Steve Greaves and ended their struggle 41 runs short of the Risborough total.
PRCC (174-9) ... 30 points; Bicester & North Oxford 2nd (133) ... 14 points. |
| 2nd XI: The 2nds nearly pulled off a surprise win against Dinton 3rd despite making a very modest score. Young Wesley Strecker (48) had no support in the side's total of 121.
Dinton 3rd found it hard going and lost 8 wickets before overhauling Risborough, for whom Nick Thomas (4-28) and P Green (3-59) bowled well.
PRCC (121) ... 13 points; Dinton 3rd (122-8 ) ... 30 points.

| 1st XI: The 1st XI never made enough runs at home to Buckingham 2nds. Although Adam Morton (84) and Tim Brooker (40) batted well, the remainder of the side contributed next to nothing and PRCC were all out for 175.
In fact they did rather well to get some way towards defending this total and managed to take 6 wickets before the inevitable end, Tim Brooker leading the way with 3-46.
PRCC (175) ... 10 points; Buckingham Town 2nd (178-6 ) ... 30 points. |
| 2nd XI: The 2nds, away at Cumnor, also struggled to make a high enough total, against the Cumnor 3rds. They managed only 126-7 off their 46 overs and could bag only 5 wickets before Cumnor reached the target.
PRCC (126-7) ... 10 points; Cumnor 3rd (129-5) ... 30 points.

| 1st XI: The 1st XI were away at Oxford Downs and finished rather late! A broken lock on the changing room door meant that proceedings were delayed for a long time after the tea interval and the match only resumed after some burly Downs team members had partially demolished the brand-new doorway.
Downs had won the toss and scored 248 after being dismissed in the 48th over. For Risborough Steve Greaves took 3-63and Tim Brooker 3-56.
In a poor performance which belied their top place in the Division PRCC struggled for a draw and held out for 52 overs after losing early wickets. This was thanks to a captain's innings by Jon 'Fridge' Witney (37 n.o. assisted by Steve Greaves (31)
Oxford Downs 2nd (248) ... 16 points; PRCC (118-6 ) ... 14 points. |
| 2nd XI: The 2nds recorded their first win of the season in fine style. At home to Chearsley 2nds Graeme Pitt managed to lose the toss (again) and PRCC settled down to a long afternoon in the field on a hot day with a perfect batting track.
After a shaky start Fielding (60) & Lazaruk (78 n.o.) steadied the ship for Chearsley and took the score from 45-5 to 142-6. As usual Dave Brooker bowled tidily and took 3-53 off 17 overs before the visitors' innings was closed on 209-7.
With the 2 Risborough openers departing with the score on 11 and the 3rd wicket falling at 36 Chearsley must have thought they were in with a chance. However 15 year-old Wesley Strecker joined Stuart Podmore and they put on 101 runs for the 4th wicket. Young Wes took up where he left off last week with a six as his first scoring shot and looked well set until an unfortunate mix-up resulted in a runout with his score on 53 and the total at 137 - 4. Paul Daly (34) batted well before losing concentration with the scores level and the undefeated Stuart Podmore (63 n.o.) hit the winning runs with several overs to spare and the eager Frank Spencer still waiting to open his score.
PRCC deserved their first win of the season, thanks especially to the steady batting of the undefeated Stuart Podmore and the precocious Strecker though with 40 wides coming from a poor Chearsley bowling attack the visitors deserved to lose. Princes Risborough won by 5 wickets.
Chearsley 2nd (209 - 7) ... 14 points; PRCC (213 - 5) ... 30 points.

| 1st XI: The 1st XI continued their winning ways with another emphatic home victory, this time over Aylesbury Town.
Winning the toss, Risborough batted and Tim Brooker took up where he left off, scoring another fine century. PRCC ended on 241-6 with TB making 112 and was ably assisted in the early stages by Dave Linger (30).
Brooker was also among the wickets when Aylesbury went in, taking 3-11 off just 5 overs. However the main honours were taken by Steve Greaves who bore the brunt of the attack with 11 overs, 3 maidens, taking 3 for 53. In the end Aylesbury subsided 79 runs short of the Risborough total.
PRCC (241 - 6) ... 30 points; Aylesbury Town (162) ... 13 points. |
| 2nd XI: The 2nds were away to Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts' 3rd and were dispirited when the home side knocked up a massive 256 and declared after just 41 overs with 4 wickets down.
Things got even worse when we slumped to 8-4 at which point PRCC staged a marvellous, if not miraculous recovery. Hero of the hour was young Wesley Strecker who proceeded to show his elders that there was nothing wrong with the wicket and not a lot to fear from the Nondies' bowling.
Assisted by the admirably restrained elder statesman Dave Hasted (29 (runs NOT age !!!) ) the 15-year-old rattled on apace. Not content with making his maiden 50 for the Club he went on to pass the ton and ended on a splendid 114 n.o. enabling PRCC to settle for a very honourable draw in a match with virtually 450 runs scored.
Oxford & Bletchingdon Nondescripts 3rd (256-4) ... 16 points; PRCC (192-6) ... 12 points.

| 13 / 14 May | |
| 1st XI: The 1st XI had the best possible start to the season with an emphatic win over Challow & Childrey 2nd.
Winning the toss PRCC batted and stand-in opener Tim Brooker, dropped before he scored, went on to make an unbeaten 100. He and Adam Morton (79) worked their way through after a hesitant start and their fine opening partnership laid the foundations for a total of 254 - 2, assisted by a quick 30 from Dick Griffin.
When Challow batted they struggled against the experienced spin of Steve Greaves who took 4-22 from 10 overs after an early breakthrough by Laurance Brooker and a long but poorly rewarded spell by opener Andy Hitchcock. In the end they subsided to 83 all out.
Princes Risborough won deservedly by 171 runs. Ground fielding apart, Challow were outplayed and failed when it was their turn to bat, on a wicket worth at least 200 runs per side. Tim Brooker was man of the match with a century, 3 catches and the final wicket.
PRCC (254 - 2) ... 30 points; Challow & Childrey 2 (83) ... 2 points. |
| 2nd XI: The 2nds played their first game of the season away to Wallingford.
