[These are the Club rules as amended in October 2002]
- That this Club be called 'THE PRINCES RISBOROUGH CRICKET CLUB`.
- (a) The objects of the Club shall be the promotion of the game of cricket and such other athletics as the Executive Committee (hereinafter referred to as the Committee) may approve.
(b) The Provision and maintenance of a Club House and facilities at Windsor Playing Fields, Saunderton, Princes Risborough, Bucks.- That the colours of the Club be Navy Blue and Light Blue.
- The annual subscriptions shall be such sum as shall be determined at the Annual General Meeting for the following category of members:
(a) Senior Playing Members
(b) Senior Members (19-20 Years)
(c) Junior Members (16-18 Years)
(d) Colts (under 16)
(e) Non-Playing Members
All subscriptions shall be due at the commencement of the season. The Committee shall have discretion to decide on the future membership of persons in arrear with their subscriptions. Subscriptions for any new member who joins the Club after the start of the season shall be left to the discretion of the Committee.- Membership shall be open to all, irrespective of age, gender, disability, race, ethnic origin, creed, colour, social status and sexual orientation. Any person desirous of being a member shall be elected by a majority of the Committee present at any meeting. He shall be proposed by a member of the Club, who shall be responsible for the first subscription. A period of 48 hours must elapse prior to the election of such a member.
- (1) The Committee shall have the power to admit to the Club premises any persons who are members of visiting teams playing matches on the Club Ground and their officers, and may allow such persons full use of the bar facilities but only on such days as such visiting teams are playing matches on the Ground. Such persons shall, on request, produce evidence that they are members of such visiting Clubs.
(2) No member shall be entitled to introduce more than three bona fide guests at any one time.
(3) Names and addresses of all guests, and name of member signing them in, must be entered into a book maintained for that purpose and kept on the premises.- The Committee shall have power to expel any member for improper conduct after fully considering the case, but the offending member shall have an opportunity of personally explaining the circumstances before any decision is taken. Any member so expelled shall forfeit all interest in the property of the Club.
- (1) The Officers of the Club shall be the President, Captains, Chairman , Honorary Secretary and Honorary Treasurer, all of whom shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting.
(2) The business of the Club shall be conducted by a Committee elected annually at the Annual General Meeting. The Committee shall consist of the Officers aforesaid, all of whom shall be ex-officio members and other elected members comprising Secretaries, three playing members and two non-playing members, provided that only playing members shall be entitled to vote for the three playing members of the Committee.
(3) The Committee shall meet as required and three shall form a quorum. The Committee shall have power to fill any vacancies in the number that may occur during each year, and to elect Sub-Committees as it may deem necessary.
(4) The total of non-voting members must not exceed 15% of the total membership.
(5) A list of names and addresses of all members will be kept on the premises.
(6) Only members of the age of 16 and over are entitled to vote.- The cash assets of the Club shall be vested in the Treasurer for the time being. All movable chattels forming part of the Club property shall be vested in the Committee for the time being, and the real and all other property forming the remainder of the Club assets shall be vested in four Trustees who have been appointed at a General Meeting of the Club. All vacancies occurring by resignation or death of these Trustees shall be filled at a General Meeting of the Club.
- That a General Meeting of members shall be held annually, in the month of October, for the election of Committee, reception of Accounts and Reports and General Business.
- That the accounts shall be audited once a year by an Auditor or Auditors to be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
- That the playing season shall commence on the 1st day of May and end on the 30th day of September, and no person shall be allowed to take part in the game unless he is a member or a visitor introduced by a member.
- That all matches shall be first approved by the Committee who shall appoint a Sub-Committee to select the teams for these matches, consisting of Captains, Vice-Captains and the Team Secretary, and who shall have power to authorise such expenses to be incurred or may be deemed necessary
.- That any member doing wilful damage to the property of the Club shall be required to make good and same to the satisfaction of the Committee.
- That the Pavilion be open to members of the Club, their lady friends and players only.
- The Committee shall have power to make such by-laws for the control of the Club and the use of the ground and Pavilion and to make such charges for admission to view matches, and to decide all questions not provided for by these Rules as they may think proper and necessary. They shall also have power to sub-let the Ground for such purposes as they may deem advisable.
- (1) That upon a requisition signed by not less than eight members the Secretary shall convene a general meeting of members, the purposes for which such meeting is required being stated in the requisition and on the notice convening the meeting. The requisitioners shall be responsible for the expenses of calling such meeting should the majority of the members present so decide.
(2) The Committee shall have the right to summon a general meeting at any time providing reasonable notice is given.- That every member, on his election, shall receive a copy of these Rules and each year a Fixture List which shall constitute a ticket of membership.
- That no alteration or addition to these Rules shall be made except at a General Meeting of members, and any member desiring to propose an alteration or addition shall give at least fourteen days notice to the Secretary of such intention.
- That the nets be reserved primarily for Senior Members on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays, for Juniors on Tuesday and general use on Fridays.
- The Club shall be open between the hours of 10 a.m. and 11 p.m. each day, providing that the Committee shall have the power by resolution to extend these hours on any specified occasion.
- (1) The permitted hours in pursuance of the Licensing Act 1988 for the sale of intoxicating liquor shall be: Mondays to Saturdays (incl.): 11.00 am to 11.00 pm Sundays and Good Friday: 12 noon to 10.30 pm Christmas Day: 12 noon to 3 pm and 7 pm to 10.30 pm
(2) Intoxicating liquor may be sold to persons attending Club premises for social or other functions organised and authorised by the Club, provided always that the number of such functions does not exceed twelve in any one year. No function shall be permitted to which admission may be obtained by payment of money at the door for a ticket or otherwise.
(3) Intoxicating liquor may not be sold for consumption off the premises except to a member in person.
(4) Intoxicating liquor cannot be supplied to a person under 18 years of age.- Temporary members shall be admitted if introduced by a member of the Club for a period of one week on payment of 5p. Such members to be authorised by the Committee at least 48 hours prior to commencement.
