Batting first PRCC made 197-8 with Adam Morton scoring 58; in reply Buckingham struggled to 144 but held on with 2 wickets still standing, despite Tim Brooker's 4-52.
PRCC stay in 7th position ahead of Buckingham in Div 4 and are now just 1 point behind Challow 2nds. Next weekend's opponents Didcot are 40 points adrift and seem destined for the 2nd relegation berth.
PRCC 197-8 (16 points); Buckingham 144-8 (14 points). Match drawn.

Return of the Golden Oldies.

The 2nd XI had another day of the 'Golden Oldies' with a convincing win when they visited Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rds.
The home team struggled to 127-9, unable to cope with the bowling of Andy Sheldon who ended up with 7-38. Although conditions weren't easy veteran Brian Piggott showed them all the way with a fine 79 not out, enabling the twos to reach the target for the loss of only 4 wickets. Having scored more than his age Brian now has the 'all clear' to carry on playing next season!
In Division 9 the 2nds now go into 5th place, narrowly overtaking Shipton and also Wallingford 2nds who could only draw against Bledlow 2nds.
Shipton-under-Wychwood 3rd 127-9 (9 points), Princes Risborough 2nd 129-4 (30 points). PRCC won by 6 wickets

Weekend 21/22 August
1st XI: Away at Wallingford the 1sts struggled to 121-9 on a difficult wicket. Although skipper Tim Brooker took 5-38 the PRCC total wasn't enough and Wallingford scraped home by 3 wickets
Princes Risborough 121-9 (12 points); Wallingford 123-7 (30 points). Wallingford won by 3 wickets.
The 2nd XI, at home to Stokenchurch 2nds, won the toss and asked Stokenchurch to bat. The visitors subsided to 94 all out, with the wickets shared between Nick Thomas (3-36), Andy Sheldon (4-40) and skipper Graeme Pitt (3-17).
Although it was never easy on a damp pitch, a steady 40 not out from Damien Piggott saw our lads home for a 6-wicket victory.
Stokenchurch 94 (7 points); PRCC 96-4 (30 points). PRCC won by 6 wickets.

Weekend 14/15 August
1st XI: At home to Henley 2nd PRCC won the toss and batted. Short of several key players on holiday, Risborough batted poorly and, unable to cope with the bowling of Chamberlain (7-14), made a totally inadequate 73.
Henley had few problems in knocking off the runs for the loss of 3 wickets.
PRCC 73 (5 points); Henley 76-3 (30 points). Henley won by 7 wickets.
2nd XI: The shortage of players fed down to the 2nds who crashed away to Henley 3rds. The home side were put in but made a solid 204-5 and Risborough could manage only a lowly 64 all out.
Henley 204-5 dec (30 points); PRCC 64 (5 points). Henley won by 140 runs.

Weekend 7/8 August
1st XI: Graham Linger hit a super 114 not out away to Challow & Childrey, supported by 45 from Adam Morton, as Princes Risborough posted 236-4.
Challow fell away to 194 all out in the 45th over, Gary Evans taking 4-41 to give us a win by 42 runs.
PRCC 236-4 (30 points); Challow 2nd 194 (12 points).
The 2nd XI had a good win on Saturday against Oxford 4th. Oxford won the toss and batted, but struggled against tight bowling and fielding on a good Risborough pitch. The wickets were shared evenly between Nick Thomas (2-45), James Hubert (2-66) and Graeme Pitt (2-36). The total of 151-6 never looked enough and this proved to be the case.
In reply Andy Pitt (69 n.o.) opened and batted sensibly, supported by Sean Saunders (20) and Paul Daly (30 n.o.) who made double figures for the second week in succession!
Risborough reached their target for the loss of the one wicket with time to spare.
Oxford 4th 151-6 (7 points); PRCC 2nd 152-1 (30 points). PRCC won by 9 wkts

Weekend 31 July / 1 August
The 1st XI worked hard at home just to keep a strong Hanborough side to 249-7. In a spirited reply Princes Risborough batted well - but not well enough - to make 211-9 and hold on for a draw. Graham Linger top-scored with an excellent 70 and Adam Morton made a stylish 64.
Once more we just missed out on maximum batting points against a younger and fitter side.
Hanborough 249-7 (19 points); PRCC 211-9 (16 points).
The 2nd XI away to Bledlow Village 2nds had a good win despite - or because of (?) - the absence of 'Evergreen' Dave Hasted (old age and a bad back). Paul Daly found the Bledlow bowling to his liking, but avoided buying a jug by departing for 46; Damien Piggott had earlier made a solid 32, enabling the 2nds to make 176-7.
In reply Bledlow Village 2nd came close after a slow start but ended up on 167, succumbing to Andy Sheldon( 6-65) and allowing PRCC a 9-run win.
PRCC 176-7 (30 points); Bledlow 167 (14 points).

Weekend 5/6 June
The 1st XI once again just failed to gain maximum batting points at home to Challow & Childrey 2nds. They inched one closer to the 220-mark than last week, but ended on 219-5. Stand-in skipper Jon Witney won the toss and, on a good batting wicket made 62, but Adam Morton again top-scored with a fine 76 to follow last week's unbeaten ton.
In reply Challow's running between the wickets showed up Risborough's shortcomings and they eased to a fairly comfortable win by 6 wickets, thanks to Podbery (103 n.o.); Steve Greaves was the best of the bowlers with 3-79.
Unfortunately we needed 250 to defend against a younger and fitter side.
PRCC 219-5 (13 points); Challow 2nd 220-4 (30 points).
2nd XI vs Milton Keynes 3rd (away)
No details available [10 June 2004]

Weekend 29/30 May
The 1st XI were put in at Hanborough and made 218 in what proved to be a tight contest. Adam Morton scored an unbeaten 125 (with Dave Linger next highest on 36).
Hanborough went for the runs and were always in the hunt, but Andy Hitchcock (5-97) kept taking wickets to leave them 8 runs short with just one wicket still standing.
PRCC 218 all out (18 points); Hanborough 210-9 (14 points).
The 2nd XI at home batted first against Banbury 4th and made a creditable 190-6 thanks to a super 91 not out from Damien Piggott.
In reply Banbury fell some way short, ending on 161-8 with Graeme Pitt again in the wickets with 3-44, just one better than Laurence Brooker (3-45).
PRCC 190-6 (16 points); Banbury 4th 161-8 (13 points).

Weekend 22/23 May
The 1st XI's good early start came to a grinding halt at Brackley this Saturday. Batting first, PRCC made only 142-7, largely due to 59 n.o. from opening bowler Andy Hitchcock. Brackley had little difficulty and won by 9 wkts, scoring 144 for the loss of just one wicket.
On Sunday a fine 117 from Graham Linger saw the firsts to 213-5 dec against Harringay. In a close finish the visitors ended just short on 210-7. Match drawn
The 2nd XI scraped a league draw at home against Abingdon Vale 3rd. The visitors batted first and made 220-8 with Graeme Pitt taking 3-45, assisted by Paul Daly (3-48). In reply PRCC could only manage 140-9 with Brian Piggott top-scoring on 39.

Matches 15 May 2004

When Chalgrove batted Tim Brooker took a wicket witht he first ball of the innings and went on to capture 5-32, including four wickets in seven balls without conceding a run. Chalgrove were dismissed for 62.
2nd XI: Playing away against the strong Horspath 2nd team Graeme Pitt put Horspath in and held them to 209-9, with Paul Daly taking 3-18. With a total that was always likely to be too much for a depleted team Princes Risborough ended on 126-4, getting 9 points out of the draw.
