About Princes Risborough Cricket Club

This page tells you a little bit about the Club's history as well as a few things of more current interest.

PRCC Now

Princes Risborough Cricket Club runs 2 teams on Saturdays in the very strong, Oxfordshire-based, Cherwell League. Currently (2008) the 1st XI plays in Division 4 and the Seconds are in Division 9B.

2002 was the best season the 1st XI has had for a few years. It gained promotion to Division 3 of the Cherwell League, also reaching the semi-final of the Bucks Skinner Cup, beating High Wycombe and Amersham on the way. Opener Paul Strong was a prime contributor, scoring 1066 league runs - a record for any division.
While the team spirit remained undimmed, the 2nd XI was unfortunately heading in the opposite direction, down to Division 9 and hopes to reverse the direction in 2003 were not fulfilled.
Unfortunately 2003 saw the firsts go down again, albeit a long way ahead of the bottom club and only a few points behind the next team above us who had fewer wins! Our run in the Skinner Cup ended with a creditable performance in a tight game against eventual winners High Wycombe.

    PRCC is affiliated to:

The town of Princes Risborough is situated where the Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty meets the Vale of Aylesbury. It is midway between High Wycombe and Aylesbury on the A4010 and is easily accessed from the M40 (J4 High Wycombe or J6 Lewknor). By rail (Chiltern Line) you can reach Princes Risborough from London Marylebone (45-55 minutes) or Banbury & Birmingham.
